SALEM COUNTY LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE

The Salem County Leadership and Capacity Building Institute (SCLI) prepares a diverse cadre of leaders to address the socioeconomic needs and challenges facing Salem County.  The focus of the SJRLI is to build stronger communities in cities and underserved areas of the county and to strengthen local leadership in order to promote collaborative strategic alliances, community development, and economic growth.

The SCLI identifies common regional issues and explores approaches and solutions intended to enhance regional development.  Training sessions are held monthly and participants benefit by improving their competencies in organizational and political savvy, resource development, strategic planning, and creative problem-solving.

SPECIAL FEATURES

• One-on-One Coaching: Personalized, in-depth coaching and development of personal professional improvement plans.
• Team Odyssey: A full-day outdoor module allowing participants to practice new feedback-based leadership behaviors and team problem-solving skills.
• Assessment tools: SCLI participants receive feedback from an array of in-depth self-awareness tools and activities, including but not limited to:

  • Leading Change at Every Level
  • Leader-Management Profile
  • Myers-Briggs Type Inventory
  • Situational Leadership Profile

OPPORTUNITIES FOR ORGANIZATIONS AND BUSINESSES
Leaders and managers in public, private, and not-for-profit organizations who are charged with devising and executing business plans, strategies, and corporate initiatives are encouraged to contact the CSUCL for training opportunities. 

The CSUCL has several scholarship opportunities available for qualified applicants.  Participants must have a strong desire to strengthen and hone their leadership effectiveness through training that is reflective and feedback-intense.
